When you need dental care but can’t afford the rising costs, avoiding treatment is perfectly natural. Unfortunately, this can lead to more complex dental issues and decreased overall health.

At St. George’s Dental, we understand how important it is to prioritise your oral health. That’s why we offer bulk billing for eligible patients. So, what is bulk billing, and what does it mean for my family? Please continue reading to learn more.

The Bulk Billing Basics

Bulk billing allows certain Australian citizens to receive specific preventive and ongoing dental treatments at no cost or a reduced price. St. George’s Dental will file all the necessary paperwork and recover any treatment fees directly from Medicare.

This means you won’t have to worry about any upfront costs, and the only out-of-pocket expenses you’ll be responsible for are those Medicare doesn’t cover.

If your child is under 18 and eligible for the Medicare Child Dental Benefit Scheme (CBDS), they could be eligible for $1,000 in dental treatment.

If you’re a veteran, you can receive free dental treatment by presenting your DVA Gold Card. At our clinic, you will never have to pay.

What Does This Mean for My Family?

There are many ways your family can benefit from bulk billing, such as:

  • Better oral and overall health — Regular preventive dental visits keep your teeth and gums healthy, which can also improve your overall health.
  • Lower costs — You won’t have to worry about paying full price for necessary dental treatment.
  • Peace of mind — Imagine not feeling stressed or anxious about being able to afford the dental care you deserve.
  • Timely care — When you're eligible for bulk billing, you don’t have to wait to see a dentist. You can arrange an appointment when you need it.
