Cosmetic dentistry is generally used to refer to any dental work that improves the appearance (though not necessarily the functionality) of teeth, gums and/or bite.
At St George’s Dental we primarily focus on improving dental aesthetics in colour, position, shape, size, alignment and overall smile appearance. Our dentists are experienced in a complete range of cosmetic dental procedures, helping you to improve your confidence and get the smile that you have always wished for.
Porcelain veneers & resin bonding
While the condition of our teeth is important from a physical health point of view, it is also important to our self-confidence to have a mouth of white, straight teeth without any cracks or stains.
Having a bright smile can go a long way to make you feel good and confident at all times. Porcelain veneers can be beneficial when we need to achieve this million dollar smile.
Porcelain veneers are fabricated facings, that are bonded to the front surfaces of the teeth. They are highly durable and resistant to staining and chipping. Porcelain veneers are excellent for moderate to major changes in tooth shape, discoloured, chipped, stained and gaps and can be made to look very natural.
Veneers are manufactured in the laboratory after your initial consultation and placed by our dentist in your second visit.
Porcelain veneers are a thin, custom fitted shell of porcelain permanently bonded to the surface of teeth that may be crooked, misshaped, cover gaps as well as to improve the shade of the teeth and the overall aesthetics of a persons smile.
Veneers are a very durable option to improve the functionality of your teeth. The average life span of a dental veneers is between 10-25 years.
Composite resin bonding/veneers
Composite veneers are restorations added to the front surface of the tooth in order to correct discolouration, minor misalignment, chips or cracks.
They are also used to reduce gaps between teeth and build up worn teeth to restore a natural looking smile.
They are applied one layer at a time to slowly cover the existing tooth. Each layer is cured by our professional dentist until the final result is achieved.
